Excellent and tastyWe had eaten at one of the other restaurants the night before, but when we looked over this menu, we decided we needed to give it a try, as it seemed to have a more interesting menu on offer than most of the other restaurants nearby.
The weather was horrible, so we ate inside. It was a basic restaurant decor, with pretty harsh white strip lighting, but the friendly owner made us welcome. We ordered the roast goat dish, which, while being honey and fiddely, was delicious, but the real.winner was the fish stew. It was the best dish we have eaten so far in Portugal, and my wife and I couldn't get enough of it. Full of eel, clams shrimp, and a white fish, all in an intense broth with rice mixed in. It was bursting with flavour. We would definitely return!
Pretty goodWe enjoyed our lunch here at the Conquistador. The fish stew and seafood rice were very good. Two of our children had cheese omelettes, which were OK but contained rock hard wedges of cheese...! The waiter was nice, friendly and helpful. It's nice to eat outside in the sunshine and we found the prices OK for the main street in Óbidos, where prices are OK but quite expensive by Portuguese standards.
