Ought to Go to the IntimoWe’re originally from Seattle but now live in Lisbon. Traveling down to the beaches in Algarve, we stopped by Beja on our way back home. Thirty minutes out of our way but read TA and decided to visit the town. On the way here, we saw several Tourisma Rural and Adegas signs. Pressed for time, we didn’t take those turnoffs, but definitely next time will. Found the Intimo restaurant on a side street under shade trees and red Super Bock umbrellas filled with locals (always a good sign). After getting a table, we opted for an appetizer of Portabello mushrooms stuffed with spinach and topped with broiled goat cheese, honey, and toasted pine nuts. Our entree was an order of pork medallions in cream sauce with shrimp and asparagus and our choice of French fries and salad accompaniment. Presentation of everything was excellent and surpassed only by the taste. Great homemade dessert selection as well. Highly recommend and plan to return with friends.
