If you're seeking a place that only locals know and if you're an icecream fan, Conchanata is the perfect place for a different icecream break. Located near the famous Roma Avenue, this family runned business was founded in mid XX century when following Mr. Le Corbusier, several architects developed a wide and almost uninhabited area of Lisbon. The Alvalade metro station is about 200m from this small but extremely pleasant secret. All icecreams are delicious but the one named after the icecream shop is exquisite once it mixes the cream flavour with a secret recipe of strawbery sauce. Three generations of the founders (from italian origin) still work here improving quality and keeping an almost untouched vintage style.

Number 1 in Lisbon, and in my opinion, possibly in the world. Haven't found better ice creams anywhere in the planet.

There are some people who disagree. For me this little ice cream shop still has the best ice cream in town. The price is high, service is not very friendly or welcoming, but it is totally worth it.
