Cozy atmosphere and good food...what more can you ask for from a restaurant?
We were idly strolling down a street, looking for somewhere to eat dinner, when the waiter approached us. Being far less pushy than your average restaurant usher, he was pleasantly calm, and seemed genuinely friendly and interested in what sort of dining we were looking for. Intrigued at his description of his restaurant, we followed him off the main street and up a small alley to this hole-in-the-wall place.
The atmosphere was cozy and informal. The staff was friendly and attentive. The menu was varied and with several kinds of meat you don't get many places. My girlfriend had a kind of rabbit stew. Delicious. And their wine selection was vast for such a relatively small place. I'm no connoiseur, but surely their walls of bottles had something for everyone.
All in all a good experience, and another reminder of how the best things usually are off the beaten path and up a narrow alley.
Misleading Bill ChargingThis restaurant is very small and located off a side street. We had a fish platter of four types of fish, grilled with a plate of vegetables. They offered appetizer of cheese and assorted meats that came with olives, bread and butter. We ordered still water to drink. Our final bill it was around €56 after charging us €2 for bread and €2 for small butters and significant cost for the appetizer, a bottle of water and a few olives. Beware of their misleading business practices. The fish platter was OK, but our experience was overshadowed by receipt of the bill.
