A Pleasant SurpriseWe found this place completely by chance as we were walking along the main street and noticed a sandwich board directing us up a side street to the restaurant. What a fantastic piece of luck!
There were thirteen of us and the small restaurant had little trouble accommodating us all. The staff were friendly (if a little overzealous with the starters), the wine was great, and the food was excellent. Many of us had the steak and all of who did commented on just how delicious it was - some going as far to say that it was the best they'd ever had.
This place is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for an authentic Portuguese dining experience.
Fantastic little placeGreat little place, not far from our hotel. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, big portions. Had salmon, such big steaks, perfectly cooked. Great house wine, very clean.
Good choiceWe were enticed in by a guy at the end of the road, after having checked out another couple of places, and this proved to be a great choice. We were sat down and given a generous complimentary glass of port. The menu was interesting and I had the goat, the chef came out and asked me how I would like it cooked, and I chose to have it casseroled, my wife had the rabbit. We had a large plate of local ham and cheese while we were waiting, as they take their time in preparing and cooking their food. Both of us were very impressed by the flavours, but there was so much food that we had to reluctantly leave quite a bit. The 'street guy' came back at the end of the meal to ask how we enjoyed it and gave us another glass of complementary local liqueur. The bill for 2 with a reasonable wine came to just over 60 euros, which for what we had, we felt was very reasonable
