A shadow of its former gloryThis was a favorite place of mine when I lived in Lisbon, mostly because it served good, hard-to-find dishes (at least in Lisbon) from the Beira Alta mountain region. The quality is definitely not what it used to be, and when choosing from the menu, have at least 3 choices ready to go, because only a small fraction of the menu seems to be available at any one time (and the chicken cabidela, a favorite dish of mine, apparently never). Whatever you do, do NOT order house wine by the glass--you will be charged 5 euros each. The quite ordinary "house" wine was an unconscionable 15 euros a bottle. God, I miss the old Portugal.
Restaurant sympathiquePetit restaurant sympathique, cuisine authentiques plats assez bon mais sans plus, vin moyen et prix élevé, mon premier choix était le restaurant à côté malheureusement fermé au mois d’août
Traditional Portuguese DiningThe restaurant was not far from our hotel but we would not have found it had there not been a man handing out leaflets on the main road Av. Da Liberdade as the restaurant is up a quiet side street. We both had a traditional fish dish which was most enjoyable with generous portions rounded off with complimentary glass of port.
